Period Poster based on the vessel Moana Roa.
The boat featured was the GMV Moana Roa which was in service as a cargo/passenger/mail vessel between Auckland and Rarotonga/Cook Islands from 1960 to 1974. The Moana Roa
Built as a replacement for 'Maui Pomare' for the Auckland-Cook Islands trade.
1974: Taken over by Royal NZ Navy, converted into survey ship, r/n HMNZS Monowai.
The birds featured are Kota'a, the Frigate Bird.
